Library Reading and School Visits

At schools I will encourage children to think about:

  • Where ideas for stories come from

  • How to turn anything into a story

  • What makes a story scary, funny or unique

  • Why solving problems is a good skill

  • All drafts are messy, and everyone rewrites to make them better

  • I leave time for questions and enjoy hearing what the children think

At libraries I will give an animated reading of Rock - the Rainbow Unicorn, sometimes accompanied by my 7-yr old granddaughter who turns pages for me. At the end, depending on the age of the children, I will talk about the story and how it was developed and written.

I'm happy to volunteer to speak at schools (K-3) and read at libraries (7yrs and under) at no charge. Please contact me for scheduling.
